REQUIREMENTS:
Class: 1 - Dripproof (see note 1).
Class: 2 - Totally enclosed (see note 2).
Class: 3 - Watertight (see note 3).
Dimensions and configuration: See figures.
Composition: Steel or aluminum (see note 6).
Current rating: 400 amperes.
Voltage rating: 500 V ac and 250 V dc.
Short circuit capacity: 100,000 amperes.
Bus bar sizes (minimum): 400 amperes - 1 x 0.250 inch.
Circuit breakers: AQB-A101, AQB-A102, AQB-A103 and NQB-A101, NQB-A250 (see MIL-DTL-17361).
NOTES:
1. Class 1 panels with doors shall meet the 45 degree dripproof requirements, and panels without doors shall
meet the 15 degree dripproof requirements in accordance with MIL-STD-108. When used, drip shield
dimensions shall be as required to provide the specified degree of enclosure. Panels shall be furnished
without doors only when specified in acquisition documents.
2. Class 2 panels shall meet the totally enclosed requirements as specified in MIL-STD-108.
3. Class 3 panels, with doors, gaskets, and drain opening, shall meet the watertight requirements as specified
in MIL-STD-108.
4. A power available indicator light shall be provided for each circuit breaker used for bus transfer switching.
The indicator light shall be placed in close proximity to the circuit breaker to which it refers and shall
illuminate when power is available.
5. A split bus arrangement shall be provided when specified in the acquisition documents. The current rating
shown shall apply to each separate bus grouping.
6. Panels shall be of aluminum construction unless steel is specified in the acquisition document.
